Happy Memorial Day!

This Memorial Day, John and I kept it pretty lowkey. We did some yardwork while the twins slept (feel free to pitch in and help anytime Austin and Addison!) and relaxed on our deck. We spent the evening at Jack and Linda's with John's family. Jack cooked hot dogs and brats - yummy!

We had lots of help feeding the twins (thanks Randi, Ashley and Rett!)

John and I are really thankful to all of the men and women who have served or are currently serving. A special prayer for those that have sacrificed with their lives so that our family may enjoy our freedom.

We're 3 Months Old!!

Today Austin and Addie are 3 months old - time has flown! The A-Team is so much fun and keeps us entertained. They are both able to sit propped up on the couch or in their bumbos. When John or I walk into the room and talk to them, they will either light up with smiles or turn their heads towards us. Probably one of the most rewarding things so far is that Austin and Addie recognize us as Mom and Dad!

Austin eats between 4-6 ounces per feeding and NEVER skips a meal. He's grown out of all of his newborn gear much to my dismay. We're estimating that he's probably around 12 pounds now. Austin is full of smiles and loves to laugh. His laughter is one of the sweetest sounds in the world!

Addie is her daddy's little princess. She eats between 3-5 ounces per feeding and is working on catching up to her brother! We think she's probably 10.5 pounds. Addison is full of smiles although she has her serious face too. I'm pretty sure she's plotting the A-Team takeover of the world!

My First Mother's Day

or Mother's Day, John, the A-Team and I spent the weekend with my family at Lake Grandbury. It was a great lake house and really relaxing! John played in the lake, we played a short round of golf (and Corey and I definitely will not be invited to the pros anytime soon!) and just hung out. Here's our master griller dealing with the smokey grill:

Hanging with Cade

Last week the A-Team got to meet Cade, aka Austin's future BFF and Addie's future husband. Cade tried to teach them how to sit up on their own but Austin and Addie still need their bumbos!

Cade was very fascinated with Austin's cheeks and touching his head. Austin didn't seem to mind!

And here is Cade practice proposing to Addie. I'm pretty sure if she could talk, she'd say yes!

Playing in the Bluebonnets...

This week John and I thought it would be fun to take the twins to do their first photo shoot in the bluebonnets. As you can tell from the pictures, we made a couple of rookie mistakes. #1 - We went when the sun was WAY too bright. We completely ignored the advice to go either early morning or late afternoon. #2 - We waited a little too long - most of the bluebonnets have disappeared! #3 - We went during the A-Team's nap time. Basically this renders them pretty uncooperative and not so happy to be taking pictures.

I would say 90% of the pictures turned out awful but we definitely have learned from our mistakes. Next year will be much better!
