New Year's Eve 2012

As we say good-bye to 2011, we take a moment to reflect back on our experiences. In February, we celebrated Austin and Addison's 1st birthdays. We found out we were pregnant with our second set of twins in February as well. In May, we said goodbye to John's grandmother who is celebrating this new year with Jesus. Also in May, John rediscovered his relationship with God and made some changes that have allowed him to be a better husband and father. We survived the hottest summer in Texas successfully without melting (which I thought I was going to do numerous times). In September, John and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. In October, we welcomed two beautiful sons - Weston and Grayson. A&M wrapped up their final season with the Big 12 and is headed to the SEC (prayers that they win at least one game next year!) 2011 has been incredibly good to our family and we look forward to what God has in store for us in 2012!

For New Year's Eve, we kept it casual. John grilled steaks (yum) and we celebrated with our sweet children. John and I watched the ball drop for the east coast then promptly went to bed. I know, I know - we are party animals.
Me and Addie...

John and Austin...

By this point, Austin is hungry and totally over the New Year's hats.

Weston seems pretty excited while Grayson just looks grumpy. In reality, Grayson is just getting ready to fall over and is wondering why I'm too busy snapping pictures to keep him upright.

We did our own countdown since our kids wouldn't make it to midnight. We didn't either. :)

Happy New Year from the Rosies. We wish everyone the best for 2012!

A First of Hopefully Never Again

Typically our kids are good sleepers. So when one cries a bunch instead of falling right to sleep, I know I should go investigate. Addison didn't disappoint me - something was definitely wrong. When I walked in to the bedroom, she yelled "poo poo." For good reason...She decided to play Picaso and paint the crib, herself, her pillow pet and her water bottle with poo. Gross. Typically, I would delegate these uber-disgusting tasks out to John. He was on a conference call so the chore of this clean up fell to me. Double gross.

So now Addie is tucked away again in her clean crib and I successfully managed to not interrupt Austin's sweet dreams while playing hazmat. I hope this is the first and last time she experiments with poo as her medium. I'll buy her a nice watercolor set instead.

Grayson and Weston's First Christmas

It seems like just last year, John and I were celebrating "Babies' First Christmas." Oh wait...we were. For Austin and Addie. This year we celebrated again for Weston and Grayson. Here they are in their Christmas jammies.

Because of an unexpected hospital stay for my dad, my parents weren't able to celebrate Christmas day with us. :( But I continued the West family tradition of sticky buns on Christmas morning. Apparently the Rosies were starving because I forgot to take a picture of them before we started eating.

Here is a picture of Noble the IV, before the presents are ripped open.

I sure am glad that we didn't scare Santa away with the crazy amount of stockings on our mantel this year!

Austin crawling under the tree chasing after a ball. I'm glad he didn't knock it over (we've already had that experience once this year).

Spike Jr kept making a run for it hiding under the tree.

Austin ripping open his golf club set.

Addie opening up her new doll...

Weston sleeping through the excitement...

Gray couldn't care less either.

Addie received some Disney princess heels and a purse...

Guess who also liked the princess pumps...

My sweet little reindeer...

We hope every had a Merry Christmas!

Rosenbaum Family Christmas Part 2

The Rosenbaum family Christmas was a big deal this year for us. It is the first time that we've loaded up all of our kids and traveled anywhere. This year it was at Lance and Margaret's in Cedar Hill which is about an hour away. We managed to remember to get all 4 of the kids, diapers, wipes, bottles, presents and ourselves - and we were only an hour late (in our defense - Gray had a fever so we were waiting on the on-call nurse to call back - he's fine). We had breakfast tacos and mimosas - the perfect Christmas brunch combo!

Austin and Addie found the piano...

Weston and Grayson in their Christmas gear...

Margaret is a BRAVE woman for allowing children and colored cookie icing into her living room. Well - I was a little nervous about our kids decorating cookies for Santa. Luckily, cousin Randi was there to help! Addie decided she needed to sample all cookies being decorated for Santa.

Randi read The Night Before Christmas this year and did a great job!

Weston being perfect and adorable...

Thank you to Lance and Margaret for hosting the Rosenbaum Christmas. It was fabulous!

Rosenbaum Family Christmas Part 1

This year, Jason and Ashley hosted the Christmas/Jason birthday celebration at their house. As usual, they fixed an AMAZING feast! I apologize in advance for the lack of pictures. It seems that instead of playing photographers, John and I played child wranglers instead. Here are a few that we took:

Addie diving into her first present...

Rett and Addie checking out Addie's new dancing doll...

The dads have been enlisted to open various toys...

Rett and Wyatt testing out their new Star Wars gear (John was extremely jealous that he didn't get a light saber)

Austin playing with a new helicopter...

Austin and Addie tickling the ivories..

The birthday boy blowing out his candles!

2 Month Check Up

Today we had the boys' 2 month checkup with Dr. G. And as usual, he reconfirms that they just perfection! He is impressed with their growth and even got a smile out of Grayson.

Grayson weighs 11 lbs, 4 oz (50th percentile), is 22.5 inches long (50th percentile) and his head is 15.3 inches (50th percentile). Dr. G gave him an A+ and noticed that he's pretty strong.

Weston weighs 11 lbs, 2 oz (50th percentile), is 22.5 inches long (50th percentile) and his head is 15.3 inches (50th percentile). Grayson has 2 oz on him but I think it's funny they are identical in length and head circumference. Dr. G also gave Weston an A+ and said that he's growing up!

It's hard to believe that the next time we go in for a checkup, Grayson and Weston will be 4 months old!

We're 2 Months Old!

Can it be?? Can the boys really be 2 months old already? They are such amazing little guys and are growing right before our eyes! Grayson and Weston are becoming more expressive, have figured out how to smile (even if they aren't gassy Gusses) and love to take in the world around them. They are moving out of the newborn sleepy phase and are much more alert.

Grayson and Weston are eating champs. They eat 7 times a day and will eat between 4 to 6 ounces each feeding. Based on the rate the thigh rolls are materializing, they are packing on the pounds. We have a doctor's appointment Friday to find out how much they weigh.

So far Grayson and Weston have been great sleepers. I truly believe God blessed us with sleeping children because we have so many of them! We're still working out a daytime nap schedule but right now they are taking 4 naps. They aren't usually really excited about the morning nap so we try to do tummy time before going back to sleep. At nighttime, we've been feeding them anywhere from 8 to 10, they wake up between 3 to 4 am and then sleep until 7 to 8 am. Although I can't complain about the amount of sleep we get, I will be excited to drop that middle of the night feeding!

I've officially cleared out all of the Carter's newborn clothing from your drawers. Tears. :( You're outgrowing most of the other newborn things too. We had to make the switch from newborn to size 1 diapers. If you could just slow down the growing up just a bit, Mommy would appreciate it.

Grayson - you are just a doll. You are pretty good natured - unless you are hungry. You have this huge gummy smile that you love to flash at your mommy and daddy. And boy does that melt our hearts!! You've even grinned for Austin and Addison which they just think is so funny! Speaking of Austin and Addie, they call you Baby Guy. They can't say Grayson so Guy it is! If you are sleeping, they say "Baby Guy night night." Or if you are crying, "Why Baby Guy cry?" It cracks me up. Someday they will learn to say your name but until then,  you are Baby Guy!

You like tummy time and are getting pretty strong. You've started pushing up on your forearms quite a bit and can turn your head side to side sometimes. You've rolled over a couple of times but I think it was by accident. Here you are showing off your skills to your brother...who is probably sleeping.

Weston - you are such a sweet little man. You have a chill personality and typically are easy going. You like to snuggle which I'm a fan of! When Austin and Addie are grabbing your head to plant a big sloppy one on you, you don't seem to mind. I'm pretty sure you are going to grow up to be pretty darn tough!

You also have started flashing some big grins. And I just love them!! You will also stick your tongue out if we stick ours out. This is the fun age when you start to mimick.

You aren't quite as much of a fan of tummy time as your brother and typically will cry or sleep your way through. But you like sitting in your swing and staring at the mobile. You're starting to follow things with your eyes more - pretty cool!

I love watching these little guys change on a daily basis. They are seriously growing every day and get a new fat roll or chin every time I turn around. I am so excited to see how much they have grown at their two month appointment!
